A good practice guide of engaging men in gender equality

During the ‘Breaking the Cycle’ project, young people addressed gender-based violence (GBV) in their own communities. The project triggered an exchange between project partners around the world and promoted informal learning among youth workers in the different countries. The project also strengthened work in those countries by increasing youth workers’ knowledge of gender equality and training them to engage young people on those issues.

The second phase of ‘Breaking the Cycle’ aims to go one step further in that process by including men. It is becoming increasingly clear that men are the most important link in ending gender-based violence. In this project, the joint learning process therefore focused on the different methods of working with men and boys that are already being used by partner organisations in six countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific. The result of this project is this Good Practice guide
