Dear MenEngage Europe (MEE) member,

We, the steering committee of MenEngage Europe, are happy to invite you to our European Membership Network Meeting in Vienna on the 18-20 of October. This is a great opportunity to meet and mingle and exchange and inspire together with colleagues from all over Europe, all working to engage boys and men in gender justice. We are looking forward to an inspiring event with both formal and informal networking, a lot of interaction and participation, good vibes and forward looking discussions. We hope you will join us!

MenEngage Membership Meeting
For almost 10 years the MenEngage Europe network has been committed to involving men and boys from Europe in achieving gender justice. Currently the network finds itself in an interesting place with increasing membership, multiple activities at country level, national and international collaborations, media interest, campaigns, public talks, me-too dialogues, policy lobby, and more.

The network needs the motivation and inspiration from all our different members and we look forward to meeting you all! Four years after the last grand membership meeting in Zagreb 2014, we are thrilled to invite you to an opportunity to further enlarge, deepen and strengthen MEE’s network, its structure, roles and responsibilities. With this meeting we hope to strengthen coordination mechanisms and interconnectivity among the network’s member organisations and to inspire and get inspired!

We will discuss content matters, strategy issues, cooperation with and accountability towards women’s rights organisations and other social movements and further organisational development matters to strengthen our influence and impact as a regional network of the MenEngage Global Alliance. During this meeting members will also be asked to discuss and give input to our common strategy, methods of organising, house rules and principles for a more formalised coordination process and structure.

In this meeting we will also elect a new Steering Committee for the coming two years, we therefore encourage all members to consider the opportunity to nominate oneself or another organisation to the Steering Committee (more information on this will be available shortly).

Practicalities
The meeting will be hosted by our MenEngage member organisation POIKA in Vienna, Austria and will be co-organised by the MenEngage Europe Steering Committee. With this next membership meeting we want to continue building towards a firm network; a more viable, inclusive and sustainable MEE network for engaging men and boys for gender justice across the European region.

The meeting is for members only, but there will be some opportunities for interested stakeholders and potential members to join some part of the program.

The meeting is free of charge and accommodation with breakfast will be covered by MEE (with the support of OAK foundation) for those members who do not have the opportunity to cover their own expenses. For them, also funding for travel costs or additional costs related to the meeting will be available.

However, we have a limited budget to support people in travel and accommodation. It would be great if you can pay for your own expenses, so we would be able to support people with less financial back up. Please let us know upon registration! Here, you can also let us know if, when not needing any support, you do wish to stay in the same hotel, which will be very useful for networking and can be arranged by us!

The Membership Meeting is exclusively for members that are registered with the MenEngage Global Alliance and who adhere to the Code of Conduct and Core Principles.
